Common questions

Everything you're probably wondering

Do you come to me?
Yes. CrankShop collects your bike from your home or workplace, services it in a fully equipped workshop, and returns it to you — free of charge. There's no need to get to a shop during working hours.
What areas do you cover?
CrankShop covers Newton Abbot, Torbay, Teignmouth, Bovey Tracey, Totnes and the surrounding areas of Devon. If you're not sure whether you're in range, just call and ask.
How much is a bike service?
A standard service is £39 for a road, commuter or hardtail bike, £49 for a full suspension or electric bike, and £59 for an electric full suspension bike. Every price includes free collection and return.
Do you work evenings and weekends?
Yes — that's the whole point. CrankShop operates seven days a week and collections are usually made between 5.30pm and 7.30pm, so you don't have to take time off work.
Do you service electric bikes?
Yes. Mat is Bosch and Shimano trained and accredited, and runs diagnostics and software updates for Bosch, Shimano (Di2, E8000, EP8), SRAM AXS and MAHLE X System. Electric bike services start at £49.
Can you service my suspension?
Yes. Suspension servicing is available as an add-on to any service — £29 for a fork, or £49 for a fork and rear shock. Fork services from a basic lower-leg clean through to a full rebuild start at £39 plus parts.
What happens if my bike needs parts or extra work?
Mat contacts you first and agrees the cost before doing anything. Your bike goes on the stand, you get a quote for the fix and the options, and no additional work happens until you've said yes.
How long will my bike be away?
Most standard services are turned around quickly, and Mat will give you a realistic timescale when he quotes. If parts need ordering he'll tell you up front.
How do I pay?
All major cards and contactless payments are accepted on location using Teya card readers, so you can pay when your bike is returned.
Are you qualified and insured?
Yes. CrankShop is Cytech, Bosch and Shimano trained and accredited, is a SRAM and RockShox warranty agent, and is fully insured. Mat has over 15 years of experience maintaining bicycles.
