What you actually get
Everything done in a service
Most shops won't tell you this. Here's the full list of what happens to your bike once it's on the stand.
Every standard service includes
- Frame and fork inspected for damage, excessive wear, cracks and defects.
- Wheels removed and checked for damage, radial and lateral true of both wheel and brake rotor, spokes checked for tension, hubs checked for bearing play and smoothness. Minor spoke tension adjustments made (major spoke tension issues are chargeable).
- Handlebar and stem — plus all handlebar-mounted parts and accessories — fasteners checked for appropriate torque and operation.
- Tyres checked for wear, condition and suitability, tubeless sealant reserve checked.
- Bottom bracket checked for excess bearing wear or play.
- Chain wear measured using KMC digital chain wear indicators.
- Drive-train checked for wear (cranks, chainrings and cassette).
- Chain lubricated with Effetto Mariposa Flowerpower wax chain lubricant.
- Gear cables and gear cable housings inspected, cable crimps replaced if missing.
- Brake pads removed, re-finished and re-bedded for maximum bite; hydraulic caliper pistons lubricated and bias addressed; cable-actuated systems adjusted to ensure bias is appropriate; rotor and pad alignment checked and tuned.
- Pedals checked for condition of body, pins, bearings and axles; threads greased with Shimano Anti Seize.
- Full nut and bolt check for appropriate torque.
- Test ride.
Suspension, motors and electronics
Included on full suspension and electric bike services, at no extra cost.
- Suspension fork checked for full functionality of its available settings.
- Rear shock checked for full functionality of its available settings.
- Rear shock removed to allow a full check of full suspension frame range of motion and bearing wear or play.
- Shimano Di2, SRAM AXS, Bosch, MAHLE X System, Shimano E8000 and EP8 diagnostics completed, and all available software and firmware updates applied. If additional performance settings or profiles are available, the options are discussed with you before anything is installed.
Suspension servicing add-on
For a more in-depth suspension service, get in touch with the make and model of your suspension and Mat will let you know what's possible.
- Suspension fork lower legs removed, seals and fluids checked for condition, oil baths refreshed with RockShox, Fox and Motul fluids, crush washers replaced.
- Shock air can removed and all seals checked for wear.

Everything else, priced up front
Some jobs take longer than others, so these are the maximum prices you'll pay for labour on each item. If any of this is needed during a service, Mat will contact you first to agree the cost before doing the work.
Workshop rate: £30 for the first half an hour, then £25 for each additional 30 minutes.
